Strong Foundations

Strong Foundations in the first years of school explores the importance of securing foundational knowledge, and how effectively schools help all pupils, including the most vulnerable, to learn the foundational knowledge they need to give them the greatest chance of future success.  The key messages will require some adjustments to teaching and assessment practices for your youngest children and for learners with very low literacy levels in Key Stage 2 and beyond.
