EQUA Mead Poetry Slam

Twelve schools gathered at Dauntsey Academy Primary School for a Poetry Slam.  Pupils from a variety of year groups performed a poem from a chosen list – it was wonderful to see the creativity, expression and teamwork.

A huge thank you to our three student judges from Lavington School who provided a unique perspective on the talents of the younger pupils along with appreciation to John, Julia and Sue, our three community judges who willingly gave up their time in support.

There were 4 winning categories:

  • Best Overall Performance – won by All Cannings Primary School
  • Best Expressive Performance – won by Southwick Primary School
  • Best Drama and Movement – won by Woodborough Primary School
  • Best Articulation and Prosody – won by Dauntsey Academy Primary School

The event was a resounding success, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment amongst all taking part.  It allowed children from different schools to form new friendships and discover new talents. The event also highlighted the values of community and collaboration which are lived within the EQUA Mead Learning Trust. Staff and teachers were proud to see the students shine, and the pupils left the event inspired and eager for future opportunities.
