EQUA Mead Music Festival
On the 8th and 9th of January over 600 children and young people from across our Trust joined together to take part in the Trust’s annual music festival at The Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon. The day explored the theme of new beginnings, being your best self and participating with joy.
Performing arts colleagues from our schools collaborated with Kate Courage, an award winning composer, conductor, musician and teacher to lead the event.
It was wonderful to see over 600 pupils from both primary and secondary schools enjoying singing and music making along with forging new friendships with peers from other schools.
The event was an overwhelming success – a demonstration of the principles of community and collaboration that are integral to the EQUA Mead Learning Trust.
Both days culminated in a concert comprising of both individual school performances and whole Trust collaborative songs. It was truly lovely to see the enjoyment and talent of all who took part.
An additional outcome was seeing how inspired younger children were by the amazing performances from older students.
A huge thank you to student leaders from both Lavington and John of Gaunt for their support and help and to all our young performers.
We hope you enjoy the videos below which capture just a small snippet of the atmosphere, talent and culture of the event.
